OUT OF SCHOOL TUTORIALS (SEPTEMBER THROUGH MAY)

    

  We provide one on one tutoring to at risk students in Grades K-12 during the school year. We ask you to commit to the months above for this program. We need to provide consistency in the students learning. We provide weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons sessions.

Our sites are around the city:
 Houston Community College (west loop, east campus, & Stafford campuses)
 Houston Public Library
 Pearland Westside Public Library
 Texas Southern University
 University of Houston Central
 
Counties served: Harris County, Fort Bend and other surrounding Counties.

 

 READ WRITE ACTION LITERACY PROGRAM    Grades k-8


October to April


The program is held on Saturdays.  If you have great skills in either or both reading and writing skills please volunteer - we need you. High School to Adults accepted. You do not need to commit to every session, but it would be great.

COLLEGE 1on1 PREPARATION SESSIONS  (January - March; July -August; October - November)


SAT TUTORS (18 and older)  ALGEBRA, GEOMETRY, READING, WRITING


  We provide tutoring for students whose family cannot afford to pay the high cost of corporate SAT programs. We assist them in strengthening their weak skills and utilizing effective test strategies to enhance their chance of achieving a successful score. In addition, we assist them with graduation requirements, FASFA, scholarships applications, and college admission paperwork.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Academic Enrichment - Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Math, & Writing Camp (Grades K-8)

 THIS YEAR WE WILL HAVE THE REIGNITE SUMMER ACADEMIC BRIDGING PROGRAM

 We focus on children and youth in low income communities during the week day hours. Our sites are in the Sunnyside, South Acres, and surrounding areas.
We need  VOLUNTEERS for:
 Reading, Math, & Writing tutors (High School Gr 11 students through
    Adults)
 Administrative - Registrars, copying and collating, internet
 Science, computer, engineer Task Team
 Refreshment Team
 Logistics team
 Career Speakers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

STAFF NEEDS


 Volunteer Coordinator - assist with communicating with volunteer inquiries, volunteer tutors, coordinate volunteer celebration, etc. 
   Site coordinator - help schedule meeting and program sites. Ensure space and equipment needs are met, oversee refreshments for events, and more. 
   Event coordinator. - plan and implement events. Be able to think outside the box. 
   Funds development coordinator - manage the funding application due dates, locate new funding possibilities, assist in the preparation of grants, reaching out to others for donations, and more. 
  School Supply Coordinator - We collect school supplies during the year with our largest promotion during the month of August. We distribute in September and January. This person will manage the inventory count, client distribution list, and donors. Find office locations willing to partner as a collection site, locate site for sorting, arrange distribution schedule, and prepare and communication the program.
  Program Administrative Assistant - Assist in organizing materials for programs. Gather data of demographics served. Make phone calls and send emails.
